The foundation of most things (in life) is a very important aspect of the following steps to get something done ... and so, foundation was on the workshop's menu. Digging, digging, digging ... in the good earth of Nepal. 1m deep and this will be filled up later with stones.
The different for the earthquake resistant building and a 'normal one' is also the foundation. Its not a big beton plate which will be shaked during the earthquake, its made from many many stones in different sizes and this can catch the swinging energy of such a shaking earthquake ...
But before tubes had to get holes to catch the (rain)water and bring it away from the building. This job was made with phantasy and not with machine sound. First we had to light up a fire and than heat up metal sticks and burn the holes into the tubes and than had to be fixed together to catch the round

The internet connection here is very very bad. Since two days I tried to upload and tonight at 4.00 it was working, but who knows how this will go on.

We all stay here at the farmer's house together and Sarita is the cook for these days, coming from the village and doing the needed things like cooking water for the westerners and making the first chai and the food and all is done with 'real fire' and the vegetables coming from their garden.
They cut the sabhji out of the earth and cook it and we eat superfresh. mmmh
